Baba Shop: Dallas” was an immersive digital art exhibition inspired by the vibrant aesthetics of West African barbershops that took place on September 2, 2024. The exhibition transformed Blade 21 Barbershop into an authentic vintage African barbershop experience, featuring curated works from emerging local and international Black artists. Attendees experienced a rich array of art & tech installations, live demonstrations, and panel discussions that delved into the art and culture of the African diaspora.

Originally launched as an installation at the 2021 Digital Art Fair in Hong Kong, Pap Musa enlisted Abieyuwa Eigbobo to help evolve Baba Shop into its current form. Leveraging her extensive experience in curating exhibitions and organizing events both in the United States and internationally, Abieyuwa Eigbobo played a pivotal role in reimagining Baba Shop and bringing Pap Musa’s vision to life.

Baba Shop Dallas was sponsored by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture.
